Mitty is a smart and cuddly dog! He loves long walks and play time. He’s been great in the house- not a single accident. He is perfectly fine sleeping in his crate overnight or being locked up in it for a few hours. Being part Beagle, he’s definitely food motivated- he knows the basic commands (sit, down, come, etc.) and we’re working on shake, stay, and roll-over! Mitty can be slow to warm up, but once he knows you he’ll give you all of the love and cuddles you could ever want!
He’s a really sweet boy but he does need slow introductions, as he can be protective sometimes. He would do best in a home without other dogs or small children. He just doesn’t do well with too much unpredictability. Mitty has a good amount of energy and would play with chewy rope toys all day if he could! Sometimes he gets mixed up and will mouth your hand, but if you tell him to “get your toy!” he will actually go and play with his toy instead. Once he has a routine and knows his humans are there for him, he’s a great little dog. Mitty just needs a compassionate home
who can give him the love and attention he deserves!
